So my first week on the Dexcom was up today (I’ve signed up for four weeks all up) and it was time to change over the sensor – something I’d only done with Justin from Insulin Pumps by my side, so I was keen not to mess it up on my own. It’s a pretty intuitive process, but you don’t want to get it wrong at $125 a pop, so I took care to re-read the instructions carefully. Always pays to get things right when needles are involved too, I find.

Went to check out the new Batman film on Sunday – it’s fantastic – highly recommend… although there were a few kids there who may have been a bit young in my opinion, it was pretty violent! (having said that, what do I know what’s appropriate for kids these days). Having the Dexcom was absolutely brilliant at the cinema. I’d had lunch shortly beforehand so was keen to make sure I wasn’t going too low or high afterwards. The usual routine of getting the test kit out and squinting to try to see the screen/drop of blood on your finger when the film hits a sunny patch were far from my mind.
