So it turns out that being both pregnant, and diabetic just turns you into a pretty difficult customer. Those who’ve read my blog before will know I hate to make a fuss… And I continue to feel that way but feel like it’s getting harder not to!

Last night I had a client party for a huge project we (their agency) and they have completed over the last year. The format promised drinks, nibbles and a DJ. Living Cell Technologies Limited today announced that the New Zealand Minister of Health, the Honourable Tony Ryall, has authorized LCT’s New Zealand Phase I/IIa clinical trial of DIABECELL® for insulin dependent diabetes.

The authorization confirms the conditions announced on 19 June 2009. One condition of the new authorization limits participation in the trial to patients with poorly controlled (brittle) diabetes. The remaining conditions are procedural rather than substantive in nature and LCT and the Middlemore Hospital clinical team conducting the trial, have requested the Regional Ethics Committee formally accept the changes required by the Minister.

Well, I’m sure we could all argue that almost every hypo is inappropriate, but there are some which are more inappropriate or inconvenient than others.

Earlier in the week I was at the hospital, clothes around ears, belly out, gel all over it, having a scan for my baby. The room was nice and warm then gradually felt a bit too hot and I was left wondering “am I low or is it just hot in here”? After deliberating for about five minutes I asked my husband to fish in my bag for my BG tester for me, so next thing you know I’ve got a woman standing over me rubbing an electronic device over my gel-ly belly…
